(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 22, 2008) In a week 16 Superior League 3 matchup, *Capital City Smog squeaked by a tough *Nimrods team by a score of 115.80 to 113.70, behind the support of 71,936 faithful fans.
*Capital City Smog were led to their 2.10 point victory by a 23.30 point effort from Shaun Hill, who got by the St. Louis Rams defense for 216 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 45 rushing yards. They also got help from a 18.70 point effort from Antonio Bryant, who beat the San Diego Chargers defense for 127 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. "This is the greatest feeling in the world," *Capital City Smog coach Greg Magness said. *Nimrods were helped out in a losing cause by a 35.70 point effort from Tyler Thigpen, who beat the Miami Dolphins defense for 320 passing yards and 2 passing TDs in addition to 57 rushing yards. With this performance, Thigpen was the number 1 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 16. They also got help from a 14.00 point effort from the San Diego Chargers Defensive Team. "The best team won today," *Nimrods coach Christopher Loftin said. Adding salt to the wound, *Nimrods could have scored 128.00 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Christopher Loftin left key players like Anthony Fasano and his corresponding 16.70 points on the bench. *Nimrods drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 8 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 16. This brings the record for *Capital City Smog to 8-7, and drops *Nimrods to a record of 7-9. | ||
